Why Charlie Bird is hard to book

The room on King Street is small, the regulars are loyal, and primetime seats turn over fast. Chef Ryan Hardy and sommelier Robert Bohr built a place that has stayed in demand since 2013, which means the desirable Thursday-through-Saturday windows are gone within moments of opening. Tables are released on a rolling basis exactly 30 days out, and the best of them are claimed the instant the clock turns. Walk-ins wait at the bar; the corner banquettes belong to whoever was fastest a month ago.

We work the release and the night itself. The moment the 30-day window opens at midnight Eastern, we are there to claim the table in your name. When the date you want is already gone, we watch the cancellations around the clock and move the instant a seat frees up, then secure it for you. Same restaurant, same date, every time. We never offer you another night or another room as a consolation.

The table was always available. Someone just had to be faster than the rest of the city.

What to expect

You ask.

Tell us the night, the time window, the party size. Two minutes on this page. Card on file, not charged.

We confirm the request.

An operator reviews the request, checks the room, and sends a confirmation that we are working it. Usually within thirty minutes.

We work the room.

We reach the floor manager directly, by phone or by text, depending on the night. We do not refresh Resy. We make a call.

You are confirmed.

We charge the card and send your confirmation — the time and the name to give the host.

05

You eat.

Walk into Charlie Bird, give your name at the host stand, sit down. The room takes it from there. We do not see you again until the next request.
