Din Tai Fung opened its first New York location on 42nd Street in Times Square in 2024, bringing the Taiwanese soup-dumpling chain's New York debut after decades of pilgrimages to Arcadia and Glendale. The room is large by Din Tai Fung standards and the lines started before the doors opened.

OpenTable lists the room and the prime-time tables clear in minutes. The standby line is a real path in, especially weekday lunches and the late seatings; the bar takes walk-ins for the full menu.

Tell us the night, the time window, the party size. Two minutes on this page. Card on file, not charged.

We confirm the request.

An operator reviews the request, checks the room, and sends a confirmation that we are working it. Usually within thirty minutes.

We work the room.

We reach the floor manager directly, by phone or by text, depending on the night. We do not refresh Resy. We make a call.

You are confirmed.

We charge the card and send your confirmation — the time and the name to give the host.

You eat.

Walk into Din Tai Fung NYC, give your name at the host stand, sit down. The room takes it from there. We do not see you again until the next request.
