Jonathan Yao opened Kato in a strip mall, moved it to ROW DTLA in 2022, and earned two Michelin stars at the new address. The tasting menu pulls from Taiwan and California; the dining room seats about forty.
Tock opens about a month ahead. Weekend seatings go in days; weeknights stay open longer. The team's casual sibling (Kato Sandwich Bar) is the easier nearby door.

You eat.
Walk into Kato, give your name at the host stand, sit down. The room takes it from there. We do not see you again until the next request.
