Sunday brunch is its own currency.
Le Diplomate has been the hardest table on 14th Street since Stephen Starr opened it, and the demand has never let up. It is where the city's politicians, journalists, and power brokers keep standing habits, which means the prime seats are spoken for before the public ever sees them. The book opens thirty days out, and the prime weekend slots are gone within minutes. What is left is the room nobody wants, at the times nobody asked for.
It is not a reservation system. It is a guest list, and we are on it. We know the rhythm of this room, when the held tables loosen, and when a cancellation opens a window the public never sees. We watch the book around the clock and put your name where the host stand already recognizes it.
