Why Minetta Tavern is hard to book

The dining room is small, the banquettes are few, and the demand has not cooled since the room was reborn in 2009. Tables release exactly 30 days in advance, and the most-wanted nights are spoken for within minutes of going live. There is no second wave and no quiet weeknight. A burger that became a landmark, a Michelin star, and a corner of MacDougal Street that has drawn writers and regulars since 1937 mean the prime seats are claimed before most people have finished their coffee.

We work the release the moment it opens and we keep watching after it closes, tracking the cancellations that surface as the night approaches. When a table for your party and your date appears, we secure it in your name. Always the same room on the date you asked for. We never offer you a different night or a different restaurant as a consolation.

What to expect

You ask.

Tell us the night, the time window, the party size. Two minutes on this page. Card on file, not charged.

We confirm the request.

An operator reviews the request, checks the room, and sends a confirmation that we are working it. Usually within thirty minutes.

We work the room.

We reach the floor manager directly, by phone or by text, depending on the night. We do not refresh Resy. We make a call.

You are confirmed.

We charge the card and send your confirmation — the time and the name to give the host.

05

You eat.

Walk into Minetta Tavern, give your name at the host stand, sit down. The room takes it from there. We do not see you again until the next request.
