Evan and Sarah Rich opened Rich Table in Hayes Valley in 2012 with a modern Californian menu and a dining room that has run as one of the neighborhood's defining tables. The sardine chips and the porcini doughnuts anchor the menu.

OpenTable opens two weeks ahead. Weekend prime tables clear first; weeknights and the late seatings stay open longer. The bar takes walk-ins for the full menu most nights.

We reach the floor manager directly, by phone or by text, depending on the night. We do not refresh Resy. We make a call.

You are confirmed.

We charge the card and send your confirmation — the time and the name to give the host.

You eat.

Walk into Rich Table San Francisco, give your name at the host stand, sit down. The room takes it from there. We do not see you again until the next request.
