The Commerce Inn
A candlelit Shaker tavern on a crooked West Village corner, where the city's most quietly worshipped kitchen cooks plainly and perfectly.

Why The Commerce Inn is hard to book
The room is tiny. Set inside a 1911 carriage house on the bent little corner of Commerce and Barrow, it seats only a handful of tables across a calm, candlelit space modeled on Shaker simplicity. It comes from Rita Sodi and Jody Williams, the team behind Via Carota and I Sodi, which means a devoted following far larger than the floor can hold. Tables release on a rolling window and the prime evening seatings vanish within moments of the drop, leaving most callers to gamble on a bar stool.
We work the moment the window opens. Our system watches the midnight release fourteen days out and the steady churn of cancellations that follows, then secures the table in your name for the night you actually want. Same room, same date, never a substitute. You tell us the evening and the party size; we hold the line so you do not have to.
