The French Laundry
The American restaurant other American restaurants try to be.
The French Laundry · open daily · multiple seatings between 4:30pm and 8:45pm · tasting menu only
- The host is expecting you. A confirmed table, held for your party.
- Card authorized, charged only on confirmation. Never before.
- Refund window: 24 hours before service. After that, non-refundable.
It is not a Tock problem. It is a two-month window.
Thomas Keller's flagship has been the most-imitated tasting room in the country since 1994. Two daily seatings, sixteen courses, a wine list that runs to three thousand bottles. The garden across Washington Street grows the produce; the dining room seats about sixty a night.
Tock opens exactly two months ahead at 10am Pacific. Saturday nights vanish in under a minute. The official path is that you're either in the first hour or you're not in for that month. The unofficial paths exist, and they do not run through Tock.
