The Red Hen opened in Bloomingdale in 2013 and has stayed one of DC's quietly-hard Italian rooms with a pasta-led menu and a dining room that holds about sixty seats. The kitchen runs a wood-fire oven for the pizza and one of the city's best-known mafalde dishes.
Resy opens two weeks ahead. Weekend prime tables clear first; weeknights and the late seatings stay open longer. The bar takes walk-ins for the full menu.

You eat.
Walk into The Red Hen Washington, give your name at the host stand, sit down. The room takes it from there. We do not see you again until the next request.
