Why this room is hard

Why Tsukimi is hard to book

The room holds twelve. That is the whole house. Chef Takanori Akiyama runs a single counter seating of modern kaiseki, every guest moving through the same courses at the same time, so there is no second turn to absorb demand. Reservations are prepaid and non-refundable, released on a rolling monthly window, and a Michelin star pointed at a dozen chairs means a fresh month is gone almost the moment it opens. There is no walk-in, no bar, no overflow. You are either at the counter or you are waiting for next month.

We work the calendar so you do not have to. The booking window opens on the first of each month for the month ahead, and we are watching it the instant it does, then watching the cancellations after, ready to secure your seat in your name for the night you want. Same counter, same date you asked for. We never move you to another evening and never offer a substitute. When a chair at Tsukimi opens, it becomes yours.

Twelve chairs, one star, and a month that sells out before lunch.

What to expect

Five steps, start to seated.

01

You ask.

Tell us the night, the time window, the party size. Two minutes on this page. Card on file, not charged.

02

We confirm the request.

An operator reviews the request, checks the room, and sends a confirmation that we are working it. Usually within thirty minutes.

03

We work the room.

We reach the floor manager directly, by phone or by text, depending on the night. We do not refresh Resy. We make a call.

04

You are confirmed.

We charge the card and send your confirmation — the time and the name to give the host.

05

You eat.

Walk into Tsukimi, give your name at the host stand, sit down. The room takes it from there. We do not see you again until the next request.
